First let me say that I’m impressed that you even tried to sort out the top 100 players and top 50 teams. That takes some work.
Second, however, if there’s one thing that destroys credibility it’s listing a guy who’s been labeled a consensus lottery pick this year (No. 8 in the draft according to NBA.net) as the *84th* best player in the country. This might fly (probably wouldn’t) if you discounted ability in favor of statistics (although he’s a stat-stuffer), however you list 8 freshmen, who have never played a single college game, above Julian Wright. Which is it? On potential, Wright is considered one of the top 8 players in the country. On stats, he’s certainly higher than 84th, and freshmen should be left off the list.
Otherwise, I don’t note any glaring problems with the list. You actually managed to pick out a few pretty good guards that would usually be overlooked.
I appreciate the kind comments. As for Julien Wright’s ranking. Often times too much is made about a players potential and not enough about how a player’s game suits the college game. Wright is a tremendous talent and more than likely a future lottery pick in the NBA Draft. However, this list was nto made to project players worth to the NBA but rather how their games fit into the college game. Wright has more of an NBA based game and until he develops a shot outside of 10 feet and add’s strength he’s not going to be a dominate player on the college level.
Thanks for the response. I understand your argument, but it’s not like Julian’s stats aren’t impressive by themselves. An outside shot has certainly been his biggest flaw, but he has never once been allowed to play at his natural ‘3′ position yet in college. For what it’s worth, look for Wright, the Big 12 preseason co-player of the year, to put up something in the neighborhood of 14-8-3-2 this year.
I respect your work,it is the most nice one i ever see
